Château d'Édimbourg / Edinburgh Castle

Un très beau château qui est très grand aussi. Donc si vous souhaitez le visiter, ne pensez pas qu'il se fait assez vite et prévoyez deux bonnes heures pour la visite ! Et encore, il y aura de forte chance que vous n'auriez pas tout vu.

A beautiful castle that is very big too. So if you want to visit, do not think it is fast to visit it and plan two hours for the visit! And yet, there will be a good chance that you would not have seen everything.

Quand à moi, lorsqu'on me dit château, j’entends royauté : reines, rois, de beaux et magnifiques meubles, l'histoire des lieux, etc. Pourtant si j'avais fait plus attention lors de ma lecture dans le guide, il est écrit que le château à la longue était surtout une forteresse militaire d'où pourquoi finalement tout ce qu'il s'y trouve est porté sur la guerre : musée nationale de la guerre, musée du régiment des Royal Scots Dragoons Guards, musée du régiment des Royal Scots, prison de guerre, et celle militaire.
Lorsque vous regardez la carte du château que l'on vous donne avec votre ticket d'entrée, il n'y a pas grand chose par rapport à l'histoire royale. Donc la guerre à petite dose ça me va, mais là, j'ai bien peur que ça commençait à faire long. Je comprend l'importance, surtout si cela a été une forteresse militaire.

As for me, when I am told castle, I think royalty: queens, kings, beautiful and magnificent furniture, the history of places, etc. Yet if I had paid more attention when I read the guide, it is written that in the long run the castle was mostly a military fortress so that's why finally everything I found there is focused on the war: national war Museum, museum of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards regimental museum of the Royal Scots regiment, war prison, and the military.
When you look at the map of the castle that is given with your ticket, there is not much compared to the royal history. So the war at small doses it suits me, but now I'm afraid it was getting long. I understand the importance, especially if it was a military fortress. Anyway here are some pictures. Enjoy!
