Literary Lock-in!

Literary lock in. Un autre rendez-vous mensuel sur la ville de Dundee qui regroupe les passionnés de la lecture, écriture, et autres. Depuis le mois de septembre dernier,  je me disais "ok, ce mois-ci, j'irai"... pour le repousser au mois d'après.
Ce dernier lundi du mois d'avril,  j'allais encore me défiler. Pourtant, j'avais fait en sorte de sortir du travail assez tôt pour m'y rendre. Prise par ma lecture, allongé sur le lit, avec le soleil qui chauffait à travers la vitre, je n'avais pas vu l'heure passait. Le temps de faire une petite tâche, et il sera 17h30 passé. L'heure à laquelle l'événement commence. Je fais savoir à Chéri que je ne savais pas si finalement,  je resterais à la maison. Celui-ci m'encourage d'y aller, que tout se passera bien. Sans oublier qu'il fallait que je retire de l'argent car le pub où cela avait lieu n'accepte pas les cartes bancaires.
Je pars... Hésite à tourner sur ma droite après avoir été au distributeur, direction la maison - après tout ce n'était pas trop tard- mais cela aurait voulu dire échec, et si je n' y allais pas cette fois-ci, quand est ce que j'irais ?
De plus literary lock in fêtait son premier anniversaire, ce qui ne rend pas la chose plus facile pour une nouvelle comme moi. J'ouvre la porte et me lance.


Literary lock in. Another monthly meeting in the city of Dundee which gathers books lovers, writers, and others. Since last September, I was like "ok, this month, I will go" ... to push back to the following month.The last Monday of April, I was still thinking "oh, no I can't do it, let's stay at home and take it easy". Still, I made sure to get out of work early enough to get there. Taken by my reading once I get home, lying on the bed, with the sun warming through the window, I did not see the time passing. Time to do a small task, and it will be 5:30 p.m. past. The time when the event begins. I informed Chéri I did not know if finally, I would stay at home. He encouraged me to go, that everything will go well. Not to mention that I had to go get some cash as the pub where it was taking place does not accept credit cards.I'm leaving ... hesitating to turn to my right after the ATM machine, towards home - after all it was not too late- but it would have meant failure, and if I do not go there this time , when will I go?Also literary lock in celebrating its first anniversary. As a new comer, it wasn't making things easier... I open the door and go in.

En bref, je ne savais pas trop à quoi m'attendre. Comme cela regroupait des personnes aimant la littérature sous toutes ses formes, je pensais que les sujets de conversations étaient autour. En fait, comme on me l'a vite expliqué, nous parlons surtout et tout simplement de la vie en générale. Étant une personne assez calme, qui a besoin de ses marques, j'étais plus observante que participante bien que j'ai pu discuté avec d'autres. Il y avait également Mariel, l'hôtesse de "Silent reading party Dundee", dont j'ai pu faire un peu plus connaissance.
L'hôtesse de cet évènement est Peggy.  Je la connaissais de vu pour avoir été présente lors des ses interviews avec Matt Haig, et Paula Hawkins, et l'avoir croisé dans la ville, une personne dynamique, chaleureuse, sympathique. Ce qui m'a surpris a été qu'elle parle français sans accent ou presque.
Donc après cette première fois, et l'avoir apprécié, bien vécut, j'ai décidé d'y aller dorénavant tous les derniers lundis du mois. 

In short, I was not sure what to expect. As it brought together people who love literature in all its forms, I thought the topics of conversation were around it. In fact, as soon  someone explained to me, we talk mostly and simply life in general. Being a fairly quiet person who needs her marks, I was more observing as a participant that I have discussed with others. There was also Mariel, the hostess of the events of  "Silent reading party Dundee", whom I was able to know a bit more about her. 
The hostess of this event is Peggy. I knew her of view to have been present during her interviews with Matt Haig, and Paula Hawkins, and have crossed her into the city, a dynamic, warm, friendly woman.  What surprise me, she speaks French without an accent, or a very small one!
So after that first time, and have enjoyed, lived it well, I decided to go there now every last Monday of the month.
  
Le prochain Literary Lock in aura lieu le lundi 30 mai, à partir de 17h30 au pub George Orwell, et a lieu tous les dernier lundi du mois, à partir de la même heure et même lieu.

The next Literary Lock in will on MOnday 30th May, from 5.30pm to the George Orwell.
