Here are photos taken Sunday today. As I wrote earlier in the week, here, we were first parties in Anstruther is a small village south of St Andrews. The sky was overcast when we arrived, and we decided that we will see once there. So we went to explore the village.
St Monans
As I explained here, we wanted to take a boat to Isle of May, but it was canceled for technical problems. What to do ? Knowing Anstruther was part of the East Neuk, and after casting a glance in my travel guide (Lonely Planet), I proposed to Cheri we go for St Monans. Both the GPS had found the village but for the address, we put the first that presented itself ... What brought us to a parking car providing views of Pittenweem (you probably noticed that the villages in Scotland have charming names and not easy to pronounce - especially when you are a foreigner!) as you can see on the following two photos.
From there, we began a walk along the coast ... With Chéri and "we will soon turn around" and me "let's keep going a little more!" To get at then end in this charming small village of fishermen that is St Monans. I let you judge for yourself.
Des maisons en hauteurs. Nous approchons du village Chéri ! / Houses on a high level. We are getting close to the village Chéri! |
Near the port, we discovered they had a concept and intrigued us, "the welly garden" a "piggy bank" was there so anyone who wished to do with rain boots. .. For cons, I had not seen the ground. I must admit I did not try either. The idea of the garden in rain boots seemed friendly and funny to me, maybe something my friends back in Finland working with children might think ;-).
And if we go up to see these houses we had seen at the entrance of the village before returning to the car?
Crail
And before to end up our weekend, we stopped to Crail. A very beautifull fishermen's village.
Dans un charmant café, au bord de la mer et en hauteur / In a nice café, to the edge of the sea and in height |
Enough pictures for today! I thank you if you managed to find your way down here, I know it was a lot of pictures but I was too lazy to make an other serie.
